Beacon Academy of Nevada encourages parents and guardians to be actively involved in their child’s education. Open House and Orientation sessions are conducted face to face and online. Parents are assigned a login, which allows parents to directly access their child’s class work, see assignments, review progress in courses and student grades. Progress reports are emailed bi-weekly. Teachers and mentors provide regular consultations and feedback to parents through email, telephone, personal consultation and parent teacher communication. Periodic newsletters are sent to students and parents. School website and FaceBook pages are continually updated to reflectcurrent information. Community involvement is essential to the success of Beacon Academy of Nevada, and for higher levels of student access to learning, employment and connection to responsible citizenship. Strong community connections are maintained through affiliation with UNLV tutoring programs, and non-profit organizations supporting student health and wellness. This includes outreachprograms to community groups, and organizations, physical and mental health programs and charity programs.
