We have a Galena website with information about all academic and extracurricular activities as well as standard based curriculum maps for all subjects and important dates and information. To facilitate communication to parents, we have a monthly Grizzly Growl newsletter that our PTO publishes. Galena frequently uses the ConnectEd phone system to communicate important information to parents and students. We use Infinite Campus for parents and students to access grades, assignments, attendance and relevant class information. Each year we hold an Eighth Grade Parent Night, a Back to School Night for new freshman and their parents, a school-wide Open House, Advanced Placement Evenings and a College Night. We have an active volunteer program with monthly general Galena PTO meetings. In addition, we have active Athletic and Fine Art Booster Clubs. Galena has parent volunteers on the School Improvement, Career Fair and Scholarship committees. Galena parents participated in monthly Hispanic Parent Meetings. Parents donated thousands of dollars each year towards scholarships for Galena seniors. Galena parents continue to donate hours of time and thousands of dollars to improve Galena High School.
