The McQueen High School Boosters Guild is one of the most active parent groups in the Washoe County School District. They are responsible for the annual Craft Faire and Safe "N" Sober graduation party. Numerous McQueen athletic and activity groups also have Boosters Organizations that fundraise, chaperon and provide support. School counselors provide evening programs such as Freshman Parent Night, College Awareness Night, and Transition to High School. Eighth Grade Parent Night is held in March, and Freshman Orientation in August, just prior to the start of school. The Lancerlot newsletter is mailed home quarterly to inform parents about important dates, events and accomplishments. We work to communicate student progress via the district's student information system, Infinite Campus (IC), and also post user notices on IC to help our families stay informed. The McQueen website, along with the student publications of the Excalibur newspaper and the Caxton yearbook, are published or updated on a regular basis to provide information about activities and upcoming events. We have four businesses serving as Partners in Education this year: St. Mary's, Boomtown Hotel/Casino, United Federal Credit Union, and Microflex/BarrierSafe.
