The Reed HS staff emphasizes communication: incoming 8th grade parents/students are invited to attend a transition orientation meeting which focuses on academics and activities; programs are simultaneously held for Special Education parents. Parent/student contact is encouraged through an Open House, a College & Career Fair, and Technical Fairs. Teachers utilize e-mail and Infinite Campus to communicate with parents. Connect Ed is utilized to inform parents of upcoming programs, issuance of report cards, discipline and attendance issues. Specialized programs such as band, athletics, drama, and Reed High School’s Web page utilize Web sites to enhance communication between parents. Reed High School publishes a dual language newsletter (English and Spanish) that contains articles written by administrators, various departments, booster clubs, student leadership and other entities that are intricate to Reed High School. Parents may directly participate with RHS through individual booster programs. A Parent Site Council was formed to encourage parent involvement in academic achievement, budget process, and overall concerns about the school. RHS invites parent volunteers to assist us in meeting the needs of our students.
