Communication
SSES is involved with our community in a variety of ways. We have continued our partnership with R.T. Donovan and have added the Sparks Centennial Rotary as another partner in education. We have raised money for local charities, conducted food drives, and made fleece blankets for Kids Cottage and cancer patients. We have Bingo night every month to bring the community together and also raise PTO funds. We have several other evening events including Fall Into Fun, Winterfest, Arts in Bloom, and Otterfest. We communicate to our parents through our yearly calendar, our website, and many ConnectEd phone calls. Every child is given an agenda book as a consistent means of communication between home and school. A monthly newsletter is sent home to parents and many teachers send home a weekly newsletter keeping the parents informed of what is going on in the classroom and our school. SSES parents and staff value our students’ physical education as well. Once again we raised enough money from our Jog-a-Thon to keep our PE teacher. SSES wants to make it clear that the community is so vital to our success, so we want to encourage all members to be involved. Our doors are open, come on in.
