Communication
At Pleasant Valley, our parents are our partners in education. We encourage our parents to help in the school through volunteer forms at registration and a survey at the end of the year about how we can improve our collaboration with them. This year we had a 98% attendance at our Parent conference week, our PTA meets monthly to provide support for the school, all of our school programs are standing room only, 135 parents and students attended our Science Education Night, over 400 parents and students attended our Take a Special Person To School Breakfast and the school continues to be the hub for many afterschool activities. We have a childcare program that operates throughout the day, boy scouts and girl scouts meet weekly in classrooms, a chess club, Spanish club and Lego club meet weekly on site. The local community advisory board uses PV as a meeting place quarterly. Our partner in education, University of Phoenix, continues to support our recognition of students who excel in academics, attendance and citizenship by providing a nutritious breakfast at the end of each quarter. We collaborate with higher education by providing classrooms for interns to observe or do their student teaching.
