Parents partner with teachers to create high expectations and ensure students practice skills and take an active role in the education of their child. Communication with families is a priority and includes newsletters, impromptu talks, web site, conferences, email, phone calls, flyers, student planners, weekly information folders, quarterly awards, progress reports, report cards, infinite campus, commendation cards, and Connect Ed automated phone system. Parents chaperon field trips and volunteer in classrooms. Our Back-to-School Night familiarizes families with expectations, textbooks, and curriculum. We also have a new parent orientation and round table chats with the principal. Our PTA has a strong network and encourages participation in our school. The PTA sponsored events include welcoming kindergarten parents, annual Fall Social, Jamboree (carnival), Reflections contest, teacher appreciation events,Take-Dad-to-School Day, and supporting instruction and academic achievement. Our community partners in education donate in-kind materials and donate funds along with volunteer hours. We honor our parents and community partners with a whole school event, Picnic in the Park, attended by hundreds of Juniper families.
