It is important that Greenbrae parents feel wanted and needed. There is an open door policy for parents and community members alike. We provide complete translation services through our parent facilitator and other bilingual staff members. Our goal is to provide connections to enhance home/school relationships. We are not just about parent volunteers and fundraising but, most importantly, about listening and providing a full continuum of interventions for families, ranging from primary prevention through interventions that require outside connections to meet the needs of the parent requiring support for severe, pervasive, and chronic problems. It is our job to connect school, home and community recourses in order to enhance effectiveness with parents. In addition, our parents are a great resource for us. They volunteer their time at school, assist with fundraising, and attend literacy and computer training that is held at the school. They also assist with safety concerns, serve as volunteers for teachers and staff, assist and share the responsibility for planning, implementing and evaluating programs, perform school beautification, and celebrate our successes.
