Double Diamond welcomes parent and community involvement in all aspects of the educational program. Our school newlsetter and frequent "Connect-Ed" calls keep families informed about important school issues and events. The Parent Teacher Organization holds a number of fundraisers and helps support the school art program, computer lab, and library.
Volunteers are a regular sight on campus. Many parents help out in classrooms and the school library each week. Others chaperone field trips or eat lunch in the cafeteria with their children. Read to Succeed volunteers help students practice reading skills. Double Diamond also has a large number of interns who are working towards careers in education. This year, ten teacher interns, two counselor interns, and two adminstrator interns added their talents to the Double Diamond team.
Family events are an important part of the Double Diamond culture. The school carnival raised money for field trips and classroom expenses. Many events, such as the science Fair, Multicultural Night and Fine Arts Night showcased student work. At Math Night, families learned ways to make math practice fun at home. The Jump-a-thon and Cruising Coyotes provided a chance for everyone to get into shape.
