The parents and families at Libby Booth continue to make significant contributions to our school. Several parents consistently participated in our school wide events, classes, and workshops. Our school counselor, Lori Draper, facilitated weekly classes on 1-2-3 Magic to teach strategies on how to reinforce positive behavior. Chris Verre facilitated parent classes on building language skills for students. A book club for parents was also formed this year. Parents read a book to learn self-esteem, how to eat healthy, and the importance of exercising. Several families also participated in the Jump Rope for Heart Program. Parents were invited to participate in a physical activity where they and their children learn about the benefits of regular physical activity and heart health. Such program encourages people to keep moving by walking, trotting, jumping or running for 20 minutes (minimum) around the school soccer field. In addition to these programs, many families participated in school events such as make a family book night, curriculum night, math night, Title I meetings, and assisted in Gold Ticket celebration events.
