Jessie Beck ES continues to encourage active parent involvement and communication. Parents participate through an active Parent-Faculty Association and through volunteering at the school. We encourage parents to be active in their child's educational progress as our belief is that the stronger the relationship between parents, staff and students, the greater the success of the student. Channels used for communication include monthly school newsletters, classroom newsletters, email, electronic grade tracking and reporting through Infinite Campus, a school website, parent-teacher conferences, and a Sunday Connect Ed phone and email communication. To increase parent involvement throughout the year, Jessie Beck ES does the following:
- Creates a yearly calendar with important dates and events.
- Holds a Back-to-School Night for kindergarten and for 1st-6th grades to inform parents of goals, expectations, and curriculum for the year.
- Encourages attendance at all parent-teacher conferences, PFA meetings, and school functions.
- Hosts events: Scarecrow Contest, Dads and Donuts, Moms and Muffins, Science Fair, Jog-a-thon, Just Art, Silent Auction, and music programs.
- Provides an Intervention Assistance Team and a PBS program.
