Hunter Lake Elementary School is known for its high level of parent and community support and involvement. We’re proud of our open-door policies and welcoming environment. Parent/Teacher conferences are consistently attended, teachers provide daily notes highlighting students and events, students maintain agenda books in grades four through six, each encouraging and providing a solid bridge of daily communication. Our school calendar and periodic newsletter highlight school events and activities. Our reader board allows our school to communicate with all members of the community. We’re developing a website that will house our calendar and handbook and provide information on school and classroom activities. Blackboard Connect is used to communicate important information to our students and families via phone messaging. We’re looking to extend this to e-mail and text messaging. Our PFA sponsors numerous family events that, along with school activities, provide opportunities for parents and community to visit the school. Monthly PFA meetings, Back-to-School Night for Parents, Fall Carnival, Multi-Cultural Dinner Night, family movie nights and music programs are all examples of events attended by the Hunter Lake community.
