Parent communication and involvement is important to Echo Loder E.S. Parents are notified of special events through the yearly calendar, newsletters, fliers, and Connect-ED in both English and Spanish. Our parents participate in classes coordinated by our parent liaison with information on daily classroom instruction. This year we have provided a class for parents to learn English. We provided babysitting to help encourage parents to attend these classes. We have had great attendance of parents at our monthly Friends of Echo Loder (FOEL) meetings. These meetings focus on school policies, parent involvement and parent education. The liaison is often seen helping parent’s complete required paperwork. Our office clerk consistently calls parents regarding students’ absences or makes follow-up calls for teachers when necessary. The computer lab was opened daily for parent use. Parents, teachers, and students are brought together for a night of food, games and fun at our annual Spring Fling.
