Communication
The staff at Virginia City High School recognizes the importance of quality communication with parents and the community. We achieve this goal through a variety of methods. Parents are mailed a copy of the student handbook, which outlines school rules and regulations, prior to the beginning of the school year. In terms of student performance in the classroom, parents receive progress reports at the midpoint of each quarter as well as report cards four times a year. Parents can utilize the on-line grading program PowerSchool to check the progress of their child in each class. Daily communication occurs when our morning bulletin, The Muckraker, is e-mailed to staff and parents. The quarterly school district newsletter is used to highlight important events and dates, as is the school website. Also, VCHS hosts two open houses each year, one in September and another in February. Staff also holds parent conferences twice a year, at the conclusion of the 1st and 3rd quarters.
