During the 2010-2011 school year, Parent Night/Open House represented an increase in parent participation. Teachers increased parent communication utilizing PowerSchool, school email, phone calls, and conferences. Administration made parent phone calls regarding proficiency results to families throughout the school year and attended quarterly parent informational meetings in the Carson City community. Professional development involving Project Discovery has assisted staff in making meaningful contact with parents. An-caller was utilized for daily attendance, testing day reminders, and general announcements for families. The school district website was utilized to advertise important events and tutoring schedules. A seasonal parent newsletter is under construction and will be added to the school website.
