Parents will be instructed on the use of the PowerSchool Parent Portal.. They will be shown how to access grades, request weekly emails detailing current grades and assignments, and how to communicate with teachers through the system.We are impementing the use of daily planners. Students will write their spelling words in the planner each week. Homework assignments will also be listed daily. Teachers have the opportunity to write daily notes to parents. Parents are to sign the agenda each day indicating that they have discussed the school day with their child. The 8th grade language arts class will create a monthy newsletter publication. This publication will highlight students, teachers, and events that occur at our school. An "open-door" policy is maintained by the principal. Parents are encouraged to visit the school and transportation to the school can be arranged.The school continues to support the parent teacher organization, Parents and Teachers for Student Success (PTSS). In addition to field trips, classes on effective parenting, understanding ADHD, positive behavior interventions, identifying bullying, and how to help with homework are offered.
