Parent communication at Denio Elementary School is fostered through several avenues. • A Parent Compact is signed at the beginning of each school year by parents, students, teachers and administrators which affirms our community obligations to each other in the education of our children. • Two formal and regular informal parent conferences with the student’s teacher are held each year to keep parents informed of their student’s progress. • Student records are available through Powerschool to both students and parents at all times. • Regular communication from the principal, including surveys and parent letters, solicits feedback and keeps parents aware of developments at school. • Survey results are shared with staff and students as appropriate. • PTO meetings may be held with principal in attendance by video-conference or in person by request. • Principal is always available by phone, fax and email and will arrange meetings in person with parents or students at remote sites as rapidly as possible given travel distances involved in distances between rural schools.
