CVMS communicates with parents in several ways. Parents can access real-time grades of their student on-line and have the ability to ask specific questions with the use of the student accounting system. Additionally, the school website provides information about school activities, athletics, and other special events at CVMS. Course catalogs and student handbooks are accessible via the school website. Parents receive a monthly informational newsletter via US mail or e-mail. The parents of 7th grade students are invited to a “Back-To-School Day” before the start of school and all parents are encouraged to attend “Back-To-School Night.” The parents of 8th grade students meet with counselors to receive specific information regarding the transition to the high school campus, graduation requirements, and set goals for each student. In the spring, parents are asked to complete a survey with the intent to get constructive feedback regarding their thoughts about school safety, staff, and programs. A parent booster organization, which is open to all parents, meets monthly to discuss school needs. Finally, parents from the entire school community are invited to an annual Parent Symposium, focusing on specific student/community issues.
