Communication
The faculty at Global Community High School has always maintained open, meaningful communications with parents. The Parent Advisory Council continued to host monthly meetings and discussions, including sessions that addressed preparation for the Nevada High School Proficiency Exam, college financial aid and other entrance requirements, and the Clark County School District's budget crisis. In addition, extra-curricular activities and school functions continued to be open to parents and family members. Parent participation in events sponsored by the Student Council, music department, and weight lifting team were more highly attended than ever before. All written and verbal communications from Global were done in both English and Spanish, ensuring availability to parents that speak English as a second language. Documents such as registration information, the student handbook, and others were provided in English and Spanish. ParentLink messages were recorded in both English and Spanish, and all conferences and other face-to-face meetings were translated as needed. We worked diligently to ensure our parents and other family members felt welcome and well informed whenever they came in.
