The Southwest Career and Technical Academy uses technology to improve parent communication. The school uses its website to post current information. Links to outside information are also provided on the school website. Each administrator and teacher has his/her e-mail address posted on the school website. Teachers use the Moodle system to post assignments and activities. Each teacher has his/her own website to post lesson plans and activity calendars. Teachers post grades on a weekly basis on the ParentLink system. Monthly PAC meetings are held with the principal to discuss current issues and pertinent matters. Automated phone messages and e-mails are used to send mass communications to parents/guardians using the ParentLink system. Teachers have individual voice mail boxes and e-mail addresses where parents/guardians may contact them.
