Durango High School uses traditional and current practices as a means to communicate with our community. Themated ParentLink program affords our stakeholders the opportunity to be in-the-know about their son/daughter's academic progress and attendance history. Our school website was updated with the addition of new Durango leadership and includes a wealth of information from school organization to athletic events. In addition, a Durango calendar is produced that includes all major school events. These calendars are provided to actively involved parents and are available for sale in our student store. Moreover, as suggested by parent groups, we began using e-mail notices to inform parents about critical information as well as to bolster upcoming school events in an effort to increase pride and participation at Durango. Ourmated telephone dialer is used often as a means to notify parents about specific issues at our school ranging from substitute assignments to garnering support to assist with school-wide tardiness. Lastly, as part of our current self-study process to maintain accreditation status, stakeholders participated in two school-wide surveys of which over 1750 parents/guardians responded.
