ParentLink is a computer-based tool that allows parents access to their students' progress and allows parents to contact the school staff via e-mail or voice message. ParentLink can be utilized both online and by telephone and is available in English and Spanish. The 24-hour system provides up-to-date information on student attendance, assignments, grades, teachers' e-mails and class websites, announcements, and cafeteria information. Parent Advisory Committee meetings are held monthly at the school. The SECTA school web page can be accessed at www.webuildfutures.net. The SECTA Newsletter is published quarterly and can be viewed through the school web page. SECTA hosts an academic open house in the fall of each year as well as an open house for the career and technical programs. Students from various middle schools are invited to tour SECTA, and SECTA counselors visit schools to inform students of the programs SECTA has to offer. Parent information nights and mall fairs are held throughout the year to educate the community about the academic and career and technical offerings the school provides. Community organizations partner with SECTA to provide internships, career fairs, and job shadowing or placement opportunities.
