The principal conducts orientation daily with parents and new students prior to enrollment. Parents are given the Educational Involvement Accord and Code of Honor to review and sign during orientation. The principal emphasizes the role of parents as important stakeholders in the educational process. Daily phone calls regarding absences and special announcements are made via ParentLink phone system as a tool to promote communication within the school and community. Teachers and support staff personnel contact parents frequently in the form of phone calls, written correspondence, and conferences. The school counselor and special education liaison routinely handle questions from parents about promotion requirements and community services. Additionally, the Health Office staff provides personal attention regarding students' health issues and needs. Community volunteers and civic leaders share information in assemblies related to decision making, goal setting, and community involvement. The principal and counselor are available for parents to consult with during a student's enrollment in order to provide a smooth transition back to the comprehensive school.
