Communication
Cortney JHS staff and administration strive to maintain open communication with families and community members to provide an environment that fosters academic and social success. Our annual 5th Grade Orientation Night brings our newest Cobras into the school where they meet the 6th grade teachers and are introduced to clubs and activities. Cobra Jump Start Day is held in August and allows students to familiarize themselves with their class schedules and meet their new teachers. Our September Open House provides an opportunity for families to visit teachers. Throughout the year, community and family nights are held. Bi-monthly newsletters are mailed to families and community members. We hold Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meetings monthly. The school website provides information regarding activities and provides parents with a link to e-mail teachers and administrators. The ParentLink online system provides access via the web for families to check academic progress and attendance as well asmated calls to keep parents informed of important events. Parent-teacher conferences are held upon request. Agenda planners are utilized by all students to gain organizational skills and communicate between families and teachers.
