Numerous opportunities are available for meaningful dialogue between families and the Silvestri Junior High School staff. Parents and students are able to e-mail teachers directly regarding any questions or concerns. Additionally, our ParentLink system is utilized to communicate student grades and attendance, as well as various other messages such as testing dates and emergency information. Parent informational meetings are held each month during the day and evening. During these meetings the principal discusses pertinent issues with parents and answers any questions they may have. A 5th grade orientation is held each spring, as well as in August, in order to introduce students and parents to Silvestri JHS and facilitate a smooth transition from elementary school to junior high school. Student recognition breakfasts are held at the end of each quarter to acknowledge positive student achievement. A Hispanic Parent Night meeting is held with our feeder high school as a venue for an exchange of ideas between Hispanic parents and the school administration regarding issues specific to Hispanic parents and their families. A Family Information Night focused on bullying and cyber-bullying is held which includes all feeder schools.
