Communication is an important part of our success. Frequent parent/student communication through a variety of means is a foundation of the success at Lyon MS. Parents and students can access the ParentLink Internet-based system to monitor student grades, attendance data, and receive messages from the school or CCSD. In addition, Lyon MS hosts a website to communicate school news and events. All students are provided an agenda at the start of the year to use as an organizational tool to write down homework assignments, school activities, etc. for parents to check at home. Teachers constantly review student agendas to make sure the information the student wrote in the agenda is accurate. Furthermore, school information is also published through a parent newsletter that is sent out electronically five times per year. The principal also maintains a Parent Information E-mail List of over 300 e-mail addresses. Information regarding issues and/or events at Lyon MS and CCSD are routinely forwarded to parents via this e-mail list. Finally, the principal also hosts a monthly Parent Information Meeting on the third Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m.
