Johnson JHS encourages parent-school communication to promote student success. Both traditional and technological means are used to maintain communication with our parent community. Newsletters, special bulletins and written progress reports are used throughout the year. Every student is provided a student planner containing policies and procedures of the school. The planner is also used as a communication tool between teachers and parents. The Johnson JHS website highlights upcoming events, school and student achievements and links to curriculum programs. Johnson JHS utilizes the ParentLink system to provide parents with access to grades/progress/assignment information via phone or computer access. This system is also frequently used by the administration and teachers to make important, time-sensitive announcements to our families. Themated calling system is utilized to inform parents of daily absences from school and some teachers have sent home daily missing work calls. Parents attend Monthly Parent Advisory Council Meetings (PAC). Parent volunteers assist the school on a regular basis with student activities and are an integral part of the school improvement/restructuring team and region/area PACE and PAC committees.
