Communication
Kenny C. Guinn Middle School provides communication with parents, families, and the community through various avenues in order to develop a working relationship. All parents are provided with their own personal password in order to access their student's grades, attendance, assignments, teachers, and upcoming school events using the computer program, ParentLink. If they do not have access to a computer, they can also obtain the information by using the parent computer that is located in the main office. This program also allows the school to notify parents via phone about special events and daily attendance. The school also utilizes phone calls, e-mail, student planners, team newsletters, and parent/student conferences for two-way communication with families. At the beginning of the year all families are provided with a magnetic calendar with important dates highlighted (i.e., report cards, Open House). A school website with the monthly calendar, newsletter, school events, and hot topics is maintained and can be accessed via the school district web site or ParentLink. Parents and community members volunteer as chaperones for field trips, guest speakers in the classroom, and to serve on various school-wide committees.
