Parental involvement is a key factor in creating student success. William E. Orr Middle School seeks to promote parental involvement with monthly Parent Advisory Meetings, Open House and Family Nights. School newsletters contain helpful tips that provide advice for students and parents in a variety of subject matters. Orr Middle School has an open door policy. Parents who wish to come in and see how their child is progressing can do so at any time. Administrators are available to address any concerns or issues that arise. Orr Middle School has a partnership with Title I and the 21st Century Grant that offers parenting classes and social assistance to families that need it. Orr also has a partnership with the Cambridge Community Center and works in conjunction with them to provide after-school classes and activities for kids. Orr is committed to the students and families that we serve. The administration, staff and parents of Orr Middle School envision a Professional Learning Community that provides a safe learning environment that positively impacts every student's achievement and promotes parent-community involvement, resulting in successful and productive citizens.
