Communication
RMMS administrators and faculty provide for two-way communication with parents, families, and the community through the ParentLink system, newsletters, the regularly updated website, the monthly Parent Advisory Council meetings, and Parent Teacher Association activities held throughout the year. Title I-sponsored programs on issues for and about teens (Bullying, Drugs, Smoking, College Preparation, and Homework) provide parents with information and invite input on parental concerns. The dean of students, attendance officer, and counselors provide avenues to discuss barriers to student achievement. The Title I Teacher Family Aides act as parent advocates as they provide family assistance and guidance for students and the parents. Other communication venues include teacher contact by phone and e-mail, announcements via e-mail and flyers, report cards and progress reports, student agendas, parent-teacher conferences, open house, award and promotion ceremonies, music concerts and basketball/soccer games, and musical theater productions. Programs, as listed, and events such as Breakfast & Books in the library provide parents the opportunity to interact with teachers, students, and other parents.
