J.D. Smith Middle School has a Title I Involvement Accord which is developed jointly with the staff and parents based on input from the Parent Advisory Committee members. The administration and staff provide for regular two-way communication with parents through several means. The ParentLink online grading and attendance system is available to all parents. ParentLink has been used to send messages home, by phone, to update parents periodically about important dates and activities. The J.D. Smith MS website provides activity calendars, teacher voicemail numbers and e-mails, school newsletters, and various other resources. Teachers have a my.ccsd.net webpage where announcements, assignments, and projects are posted. Parent meetings are held the first Thursday of each month. Calendared events, parent collaboration/concerns, and school improvement strategies are shared.
