Communication
Parents are a vital part of our school community. Parent seminars are held during the day as well as in the evening in order to provide face-to-face communication with our families. We provide a monthly flyer that details upcoming events, newsletters with grade-level activities, and reminders of current and upcoming events. ParentLink provides us the opportunity to expand our communication through phone announcements and reminders. Student achievement is our main focus and we include parents on our School Restructuring and Title 1 teams. They are an active part of the decision-making process of these teams. Parents are kept involved in the learning process as teachers communicate daily/weekly through phone calls, progress reports, and parent conferences. Parent participation is welcomed in all our classrooms. Family activities throughout the year include Literacy, Math/Science Nights, Game Night, Holiday Make It/Take It workshops, bi-monthly Citizenship Assemblies, family picnics, and family training classes for parents that focus on strategies parents can use at home. We encourage parents to become involved and join our PTO.
