The Miner Newsletter is sent home 6 times a year and contains news from classrooms, specialists and the principal. Monthly calendars are sent to parents highlighting parent/student activities for that particular month. Our school purchased an electronic marquee that informs the community of upcoming events or special celebrations. Teachers/parents utilize phone calls and EGP Progress Reports to communicate student success. The ParentLink tool ensures all parents receive verbal contact concerning school events, absences and cafeteria balances. It allows parents to check on their student's academic progress. An Open House provided the parents the opportunity to meet the teachers and tour the classroom. "Second Cup of Coffee" parent meetings are held once a month with our ECS or different grade levels to highlight activities parents can do with their students at home. Our school counselor has been instrumental in forming partnerships with the following agencies: Rotary Club, Operation School Bell Program, Title I Hope: homeless Outreach Program for Education and the East Valley Family Services. These partnerships allow W.K. Moore Elementary School the opportunity to make student and family referrals for support.
