Frequent two-way communication with Fyfe families is provided via ParentLink, a bi-weekly parent newsletter, monthly Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meetings, and bi-weekly School Empowerment Team meetings. As an Empowerment School, Fyfe is committed to increased parental involvement. This is evidenced by the fact that approximately 97% of parents in 2010 attended parent conferences to discuss student progress. ParentLink is utilized by Fyfe staff members on a weekly basis to post student grades, attendance, and important messages regarding school events. Parents also have access to a variety of parent classes for working with students in Pre-K and TOTs classes, learning to use technology, and family literacy. Over 100 adults in the Fyfe community also attend English classes offered for free in the evenings each week. Parent/community surveys and meetings provide Fyfe with the necessary input for making decisions regarding budget, school calendar, staffing, and instructional supplies. Fyfe parents participated in the Family Literacy Week, Carnival, and Field Day events. Our school community and staff provide the necessary input for making all critical decisions that positively impact the students and staff at Ruth Fyfe.
