Coffee with Kubala provided a regular conversation forum for parents to meet with the principal on a variety of topics. An open door policy was consistently maintained encouraging parents to visit, phone, or write the school with ideas and support. Home visits by the principal and staff established a more personal opportunity to meet families. Newsletters from the front office and Parent Center highlighted academic and school-wide events on a regular basis. Bi-monthly teacher academic/progress reports were sent home with students. The ParentLink communication system was used weekly to inform parents via telephone of important dates and events. The website continues to be enhanced providing information to the community. The Title I Parent Center provided families with parenting classes, computer literacy training, and English language programs for the community. The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) met regularly and sponsored events (spaghetti dinner and a movie, fundraising, BMX Show, school events support) and participated on school committees. Community partnerships provided a variety of opportunities for students and their families to participate in unique programs.
