Newsletters, ParentLink, and a school website are used regularly to keep families abreast of events and school-related issues. All communication is available in English and Spanish. In addition, teachers send home progress reports on a regular basis to keep parents informed, and they conduct conferences three times a year to discuss student performance. Culley hosts Community Connection Nights where parents learn strategies to help their children increase academic achievement. We participate in the Toyota Family Literacy Grant, which provides English language instruction for parents of Culley students. Parents learn literacy skills side-by side with their children, as well as ways to assist their children with assignments. Culley teachers train and empower parent volunteers to work in classrooms and with their children at home. We also offer parenting classes on topics including: literacy, parenting skills, homework assistance, writing, technology, and nutrition.
