Griffith Elementary School provides for two-way communication with parents, family, and the community. Parents are encouraged to communicate suggestions or concerns to teachers or administrators during monthly PTO meetings and Coffee Chats. Administration, teachers, and support staff are available to provide assistance, answer questions, and help resolve concerns in a timely manner. Open House is held during the first weeks of school and Parent Teacher Conferences are held in December. Written communications are distributed to parents regarding events, discipline issues, attendance, testing dates/results, and other relevant information through the use of ParentLink, flyers, letters, school folders, and student handbooks. A monthly newsletter, Grizzly Gazette, provides information to parents about school activities, accomplishments, procedures, and monthly grade-level academic focuses. Teachers communicate weekly and bi-weekly using student progress and behavior reports. The school website is designed to provide expanded access to a variety of information, student resources, and to encourage parent involvement.
