Ongoing two-way communication between parents and staff has been established to promote parent and family involvement. Parents receive information through monthly newsletters, flyers, letters and ParentLink. Families are encouraged to participate in parent/teacher conferences, special events and educational planning meetings. Written and oral Spanish translation is provided for those families that need it. Parents are also involved in the planning, reviewing and improving the Empowerment School Improvement Plan and Title I Plan. Families are also encouraged to participate in the Family Leadership Institute, a program sponsored by the Hispanic Roundtable which encourages parent leadership in the home, school and community.
