Parent Leadership Cadres met consistently throughout the year to address finance, special projects, public relations, and staff-student recognition. Parents were informed of the academic and behavioral performance of students through weekly or bi-weekly progress reports, conferences, "Ask Me Abouts" or classroom newsletters, ParentLink, telephone calls, and e-mails. Parents created interactive bulletin boards and displays to keep the community informed of special events and student accomplishments. Volunteers provided tutorial assistance to students in classrooms on a daily basis. Widespread parent attendance at conferences, school orientation, and ongoing student presentations kept parents abreast of the academic learning occurring at Goolsby. Parents participated in daily morning ceremonies to impart the message to students that education, good citizenship, and involvement are important.
