Communication
Linda Givens Elementary School provides regular and meaningful communication with parents, families, and the community. Teachers create and maintain websites that allow parents and students to access classroom information online. Teachers hold formal and informal parent conferences to share specific academic achievement data and discuss the home-school partnership to maximize student learning. ParentLink is promoted as an online resource for parents to obtain up-to-the-hour information pertaining to grades, attendance, and school news. The school's web page is updated regularly and outlines the school's policies and procedures. Monthly school newsletters are distributed school-wide to communicate important school news and highlight important upcoming events. The administration has an open-door policy and is available to discuss with parents, at their convenience, any issues or concerns. The PTA meets regularly as a group and with the administration as part of the school improvement process. Also, the PTA raises funds and conducts activities that further connect the school to the community. Parents are encouraged to actively participate as volunteers throughout our campus.
