Consistent, two-way parent communication is a high priority at Roger D. Gehring ES. In addition to traditional methods of communication, such as progress reports and unsatisfactory notices, a variety of other mediums are used to ensure parents are kept informed and have an opportunity to respond. Evening events, such as An Academic Affair and Spring Carnival, are held regularly. Helpful, topic-specific literature is distributed through the Parent Resource Center, school office, Gehring Gazette, and the Principal's Page. Parents also have extensive access to the school library and may have a Family Library Card issued upon request. Regular events such as Kindergarten Orientation, Meet the Teacher and Open House allow parents the opportunity to share ideas, share concerns, ask questions, and get to know the community. In addition, the Roger Gehring website provides parents with 24-hour access to classroom issues, events, and important dates to remember. ParentLink is used to provide parents with updated information about grades, attendance, events, and other school-related items.
