Communication
Betsy Rhodes Elementary School believes that our community can only be successful through a strong home/school relationship. We strive to provide two-way communication and increase family involvement. Families and teachers maintain a high level of communication through interactive student agendas/folders, e-mail, telephone conversations, websites and parent/teacher conferences. We take great pride in providing ongoing communication about school-wide events through our school marquee, ParentLink messages, weekly flyers, monthly newsletters, school website and the Parent Information Bulletin Board. Parent trainings and classes are provided through the school and/or the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Administration hosts a bi-monthly parent meeting called A Second Cup of Coffee to provide a forum for parents to share concerns and address issues of safety. The school hosts several community events such as Family Math Night, Family Literacy Night and Open House. The PTO sponsors several fundraisers to earn money marked for updating the school's technology. Parents are encouraged to volunteer, and we host an appreciation breakfast for all of our volunteers. Local businesses support our school through grants and donations.
