Communication with parents and parent participation is very important at H.P. Fitzgerald Elementary School. Parent, Student, Teacher Academic Planning Time is provided to share assessment data and discuss student progress. Monthly Second Cup of Coffee meetings with parents include a roundtable with the principal followed by a learning strategy sharing session and a "Make It, Take It" activity. Parents are encouraged to volunteer on our budget committee, on district and area parent advisory committees, Family Academic Nights, field trips, PTO and in the classrooms. Additional forms of communication include school newsletters, informational flyers, ParentLink, student progress reports, phone calls and conferences. We also encourage parents to share their ideas and comments through surveys.
