Parent volunteers are valued and welcomed to assist with tutoring, field trips, and helping teachers prepare materials. Parents are members of the School Improvement Planning Team to provide input on school improvement goals and plans. Progress reports keep parents informed of their child's academic and social growth. Meaningful fundraising projects and multicultural events are enhanced by parent participation. Our school newsletter, "A Knight's Tale", informs parents of upcoming events, celebrates student success, and provides a forum for parent input. The Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) program provides increased parent involvement with after school activities and monthly meetings. Parents celebrate student achievement at our trimester Awards Celebrations. Parents participate in our monthly Dailey Brew meetings, Open House, holiday performances, family literacy, mathematics, and game nights at the school. Over 200 families participated in activities to enrich student learning at our third annual Parent Institute. Workshops and communications are provided in both English and Spanish to accommodate the language needs of our families. Business partners mentor students weekly to promote increased individual achievement.
