Parent and community communication was provided throughout the school year. The PTA Advisory Board met with administration each month to plan for family involvement. General PTA meetings were held monthly for all. Parents were invited to attend committee meetings including Library, A+ Team, Student Generated Funds, Multicultural, and Parent Advisory Council for Area 4. Families were invited to a "Meet and Greet" held prior to the start of school. Open house was held for all grade levels to provide an overview of classroom academics. Monthly parent academic meetings were conducted by grade levels to provide families with materials and ideas for home. Parents were invited to Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences at the end of the first trimester. Parents who did not attend were contacted by phone. Monthly newsletters included information on academics, safety, and parenting skills. A Principal Highlights column was added in each newsletter to provide communication from the principal. Teachers and administration communicated with parents through ParentLink, the school marquee, flyers, and school website. The website provided parents with information about school events and links to instructional resources throughout the community.
