James I. Gibson Elementary School annually distributes the Student Parent Guidelines to communicate our educational goals for student achievement. Six yearly newsletters contain information on upcoming and current school events. Parents Make a Difference, progress reports, notes home, phone calls, e-mail, ParentLink and Schoolnotes.com website are also utilized. Conferences are held with parents on an ongoing basis to provide information on student achievement and progress. Open House, Gibson Family Nights, Parent Teacher Association meetings and Parent/Student/Teacher Academic Planning Time conferences provide our community with involvement, participation and access in an effort to improve the quality of instruction for all students. Our new school website serves as an information tool to provide information about our school namesake, James I. Gibson, school related events, activities and informational links.
