Fong Elementary continually encouraged and increased the level of parent communication and involvement. Open house, parent-teacher conferences, academic nights, choral concerts, Harvest Festival, P.T.A. Reflections Ceremony and other P.T.A. activities were some of the events that students and family members participated in throughout the school year. Newsletters were sent to parents bi-monthly and contained information about school news, student achievement, school and P.T.A. activities as well as notifying parents about all academic areas, activities and programs. Second Cup of Coffee and Evening Appetizers provided for parenting classes every second Tuesday of the month in English and Spanish. Teachers communicated with parents about student achievement accomplishments and overall performance in the classroom through varied progress reports and other forms of communication. Finally, our school website furthered school/community communication and gave valuable information about our staff, namesake, goals and beliefs.
