Numerous events were held to encourage parent communication and participation at Ann T. Lynch-Edison Elementary School. School newsletters were mailed home bi-monthly. Parents participated in student learning conferences each quarter. Teachers and parents discussed academic progress, state and grade-level standards and proficiency levels. Parent representatives served on school committees and volunteered to assist at school. Parent workshops were held quarterly during the school day to provide parents with strategies and materials to help their child reach proficiency levels. Evening events, such as Open House, Family Literacy Night, Family Math Night and Multicultural Fair showcased student work, and parents attended with their children. Teachers and administrators welcomed the opportunity to interact with the families that make up our school community.
