Parent/student/teacher conferences were held after the first grading period for all students and thereafter as needed to share data and student progress. The school website provided news, information, and academic links for students, families, and community. School activities, including literacy night, science night, math night, science fair, reading week, holiday programs, and awards assemblies, provided families opportunities for academic and social interactions. The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and the school provided newsletters to parents to share information about the school. The ParentLink system was used to send reminder messages to families about school events and for parent access to academic progress information. The PTA helped organize parent volunteers to assist during lunch periods, with teacher classroom preparation of materials, and support for family literacy nights.
