Communication
We provided regular two-way and meaningful communication with parents, family, and the community. ParentLink, student agendas, phone calls, e-mail, voice mail, and our school website were used for communication. School newsletters were sent home each week and student progress reports were sent home three times per trimester. Parent conferences were scheduled when needed and in October and February all parents and teachers participated in parent-student teacher academic planning time. We held a math night, literacy night, health and fitness night, movie night, open house, a multicultural and fine arts night, a Harvest Festival, a Spring Fling, monthly citizenship assemblies, an end-of-the year awards assembly, and a family picnic. The PTA met on a monthly basis and planned events to benefit students. They held an All-Fired Up Night, Santa's Workshop, a Gary Hogg writing assembly, the Feller's school-wide writing workshop, Pastries With Parents, and a daily Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students) program.
